Please bring items for the food pantry (your choice) to the meeting on Thursday.

Mark your calendars for a parish event!
Friday, August 28, 4-7 P.M. Salem will host a Tailgate Party on their north lawn. Drop in for fun, food and fellowship before the first Benton Community Football game. Bring lawn chairs and food to share (both optional).

MISSION
Norway is still collecting money for snaps for the baby sweaters they will send to Ingathering. $20.00 buys snaps for about 24 sweaters. They are working on their second group of 24 at this time.

BENTON CO. next week bring giver’s choice. Collection boxes are located at entryways.

TAMA CO. next week bring ??? or your choice to the Elberon church.

The Food Banks have made a special plea for food items (microwaveable, etc.) that children can prepare themselves and paper products.
In addition to the items above, the Belle Plaine Food Bank has expressed a need for laundry soap and paper products as well.

Thanks to all that participated in anyway with VBS at Van Horne and Blairstown this past week.

OTHER THINGS:
Iowa State Fair – August 13-23
You are encouraged to stop by the United Methodist booth, introduce yourself, have a temporary tattoo applied, and sign up for a free week at one of our Camps, valid in 2010. They will be drawing a name each evening, for a total of 11 gifts of a week at Camp! This is a great way to send our kids to camp next year!
