Norway Monthly Camp Breakfast today following worship (10 A.M.)…free will offering

Attention Salem!
Automatic Withdrawal of your Offering: Your August newsletter contained information regarding monthly automatic withdrawal of your offering. If you’re interested, fill out the form and return it to Gina Embray. If you need a form, get one from Gina or there are some in Salem Hall. There is no deadline for this…it can be started at any time.

Safe Sanctuary Training will be held on Sunday, August 30, from 1:00-2:00 P.M. at Salem. If you have not yet attended a training session and work with children &/or youth within our parish, please attend.

Parish Event!!!
on Friday, August 28, 4-7 P.M. Salem will host a Tailgate Party on their north lawn. Drop in for fun, food and fellowship before the first Benton Community Football game. Bring lawn chairs and food to share (both optional).

MISSION CORNER
BENTON CO. next week bring giver’s choice. Collection boxes are located at entryways.

TAMA CO. next week bring canned or packaged meals (mac n cheese, spaghettios, etc.) or your choice to the Elberon church.

Norway is still collecting money for snaps for the baby sweaters they will send to Ingathering. $20.00 buys snaps for about 24 sweaters. They are working on their second group of 24 at this time.


MARK YOUR CALENDARS:
Norway will have their annual ice cream social on Sunday, September 13 - more info to follow.

Norway UMW bazaar is planned for Saturday, October 17, come for crafts, baked goods, produce and lunch. Hours are 11 to 2

WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING:

OTHER THINGS:
Iowa State Fair –goes through next Sunday, August 23. You are encouraged to stop by the United Methodist booth, introduce yourself, have a temporary tattoo applied, and sign up for a free week at one of our Camps, valid in 2010. They will be drawing a name each evening, for a total of 11 gifts of a week at Camp! This is a great way to send our kids to camp next year!

Norway Senior Dining
is held each Thursday. Meals are $3.00. Call by 8 a.m. on Thursdays for a meal. Contact Barb Hastings 227-7504 for more information.
