Attention!
After School JAMS @ Salem is collecting items for Operation Christmas Child. We will be filling shoe boxes on Wednesday, November 12. If you would like to contribute an item for the boxes, please check the bulletin board for ideas or talk to Stacie Gorkow. We are hoping to send 15 full boxes from our church this year. Each box also has a $7 shipping fee. If you would like to contribute to that fee, please make the check out to Samaritan's Purse with OCC in the memo for $7 and place it in the offering plate.

Peace Parish will host a Crockpot Soup Supper for Mission @ Salem, Sun., Nov. 23 from 4:30-6:30 P.M.  Free will offering for Mission of Hope in Cedar Rapids. Everyone is invited, churches and community! Those willing to furnish a crockpot of their favorite soup, cookies/bars or help with dishes & cleanup are needed. Contacts are: Brenda Selk, Elberon; Dorothy Blackburn, Norway: Gina Embray, Salem.

 

OTHER THINGS:
Wish on a Star fundraiser (silent auction, a meal and some music for entertainment) for Tom Smith from Van Horne who has been diagnosed with T-cell Lymphoma will be November 9 at the Van Horne Community Center, 4-7 P.M. Donations for the silent auction are requested and can be taken to the Cornerstone Apothecary through Nov. 7 or St. Andrews Lutheran Church through Nov. 8 from 1-4 P.M..  Monetary donations can also be sent to: Wish on a STAR, Inc., PO Box 266, Van Horne, IA 52346.

 
Van Horne Lions breakfast Sun. Nov. 16 at the Community Center from 8:30 - 12. Serving french toast, pancakes, sausage, eggs and fruit. Thank you for helping support your community.
