WHAT’S COMING UP:
Come try your hand at making cards! This Wednesday June 9 at 6:30 p.m. we will be making cards for Cards of Peace in Salem Hall at Van Horne. The more the merrier, so please come join us.

An UMCOR workshop Connecting Neighbors
June 12, 2010, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at St. Paul’s UMC, 1340 3rd Ave, Cedar Rapids. We are asking each church to send 1-2 lay representatives to this vital training. The cost of this training is $10 per person. The Parish office will take care of your registration and cost if you let us know you are going.

Tuesday, June 15 and Thursday, June 17 have been set to work on 2010 VBS props (that will be shared by the parish) at the Blairstown church 6:00-8:00 P.M. Many hands make light work.

We need everyone to come help "spiff up" at Salem on Saturday June 26th from 8:00 a.m. until noon. We will be working inside, outside,
upstairs and down cleaning, dusting, scrubbing, inventorying, etc. We need ALL ages for the morning and we will join together for lunch
before leaving. Any questions or to let us know who we can count on please call 228-8155. Miracles can be accomplished with many hands!!!

Vacation Bible School 2010

Blairstown – July 13-15 – 6-8 p.m. Closing on 17th.
Elberon – July 19-23 – 6-7:45 p.m. Closing on 23rd.
Norway – July 26-30 – 6-8 p.m. Closing on 30th.
Van Horne – August 1-5 – 6-8 p.m. Closing on 5th.


OTHER THINGS:
Remember a family member or friend with a tribute flag. The tribute flags will be displayed at the Benton County Walk/Run for the American Cancer Society Sat. June 12, 2010 at 7 pm at the park in Atkins. The forms can be found at the bank, telephone office and library in Van Horne or you can call Sally Donald at 228-8148 for further information.


Missionary Luncheon at Marengo UM Church
Thursday, June 17th at 12:00 noon. Presentation will be Women at the Well. If you wish to contribute to their program, you are invited (but not required) to bring personal toiletries or women's clothing for them to use in their work for God. This is presented by UMW, but all in the church are invited.
